Excuse me, do you know of any guide on how to render in Daz but only for the textures? Is it possible to do? Is it viable? I tried doing it, but I rendered the head (scene) and then sent it to FACEGEN. It turned out somewhat decent, but... I only used 280 iterations with iray. The idea is to use it as a decal for Genesis 2(Virt a mate)
Example my experience:

Why can't you use the texture maps themselves? The ones you find in users/Daz3D/runtime/textures
My goal is to use it in Virt a Mate and make it look similar in the renders, since just using the default decals in VAM doesn't look good.

Virtamate is based on G2 daz figure geometry.

You need to find the relevant texturemap image in the daz assets folder.

In Daz setup a scene with your desired character. You can find via the materials tap, then looks in the diffuse section, then try select a new image texture, it will show the path to the existing map.

Use that image on your virtamate character.

Sorry, I already know that method, but the texture doesn’t look like in the render in VaM. I want it to look exactly like in the render. I found a workflow that I could replicate. I’m rendering each part of the body.
the workflow:

Okay, I was afraid you had not understood the first suggestion, but clearly you are well beyond helpless noob stage :D

Again, I apologize if the following is too basic for you:

The mapping between the 3d mesh and the textures uses something called UV maps, which are instructions for the render engine to project the pixels of the texture to certain coordinates across specific faces of the mesh.

The UV Maps changed between Genesis2 and Genesis 3 (and 3 to 8, and 8 to 9). This is why there are auto-converters, for example this one:

If the character you are trying to use on VAM is not a G2F, then that might explain your issue. Maybe you need to convert the character skin back to G2?

Did you see this link before?
