@@jane8228Your little person will love GrandWorld and Vin Wonders theme park! GrandWorld is free to roam around and experience all of the sites and sounds and colors. There are boat rides, a little puppet show, huge water and light show, a unique garden with lookout tower and so much more. If you walk to the north end of Grand World there is a beach. I think you might like to stay in one of the inexpensive places in that area.
But definitely don't forget to go across the island to visit PhuQuoc City and you might especially like Sunset Town.

New airport is called Phu Quoc international airport.

I just returned from Phu Quoc and it was less than pleasant. I spent 2.5 hours in immigration. Only two officers with three airplanes of passengers. Grand World and Sunset Town were erected at a cost of billions of USD. They are huge areas made to look like Disneyland. In terms of the commercial real estate, I estimate, only 5% is occupied. You go to Vietnam to see Vietnam not Disneyland.

Monsoons bring rain to Phu Quoc in August. East coast offers more sunshine for beach lovers. West coast has calmer seas and sunsets, but more rain. Choose east for sun, west for water activities or sunsets. Consider accommodation options on both sides too!
